Smoothie bowl with Greek Yogurt and frozen fruits

May 25, 2018

For most parents in the world smoothies are the perfect way to sneak in one meal what kids averse the most: fruits and vegetables. Unfortunately this trick didn’t work with my kids and no matter how many smoothie recipes I tried, I couldn’t figure out why. One day I realized that they didn’t reject the taste of it. The just didn’t like drinking it. They want their smoothie in a bowl, to eat with a spoon. And guess what? This is considered to be trendy!

So here is my twisted smoothie recipe, with a creamier texture and therefore easier to eat with a spoon. Use frozen fruits combined with Greek yogurt and honey, to make your smoothie bowl look more like a cup of ice cream. Add some chocolate drops as a topping and make it 100% kid-friendly. Click HERE to find out how to freeze fresh strawberries.

Hands on:  2 minutes

Serves:       2-3

1 cup frozen strawberries

1 banana

1 cup (200gr) Greek yogurt

1 tablespoon honey

chocolate drops (as a topping)

How to do it

  1. Blend the frozen strawberries together with the banana.

  2. When smooth, add the Greek yogurt and the honey. Blend only for 5-10 seconds. No more.

  3. Place your smoothie in small bowls and add the topping your kids like (muesli, almonds, fresh fruits, pumpkin seeds etc).
